As your doula, I offer steady companionship, reassurance, and comforting words to ease your fears and anxieties. I'll also provide evidence-based info and encouragement to keep you strong. For physical support, I use techniques like massage, breathing exercises, positioning tips, and tools like birthing balls. Postpartum, I'll help you adjust to life with your new baby. My goal is to create a balance of emotional and physical support for a calm and peaceful childbirth experience.

Do Doulas work alongside medical professionals or replace them?Doulas work alongside doctors and nurses, complementing their care and providing continuous support throughout the birthing process. Doulas do not replace health care professionals.

What is the difference between a Doula and a midwife?While Doulas provide emotional and physical support, midwives are healthcare professionals who provide medical care during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Doulas are there to make sure your birth expectations are met.

What certifications do you hold as a doula?I am certified as a labor and delivery doula through The Elite Doula & Co. I am getting further education to become a full spectrum doula through them as well

What's the difference between a labor and delivery doula and a full-spectrum doula?A labor and delivery doula supports you physically, emotionally, and informationally, during your pregnancy and childbirth. They ensure your comfort and empowerment from labor onset until your baby arrives. A full spectrum doula does all that and is trained in more, offering care like overnight services, lactation, and even bereavement care. They provide continuous, compassionate care through all reproductive experiences.

Are you available for home births or only in hospital settings?At Inner Serenity Doula Care, I am pleased to offer my services for home births, hospital births, and birthing center births. I am happy to support you in the birthing environment that you feel most comfortable in. I am committed to providing personalized care and support to meet your unique needs and preferences during your birthing experience. Whether you choose a home birth or hospital setting, I am dedicated to guiding and assisting you every step of the way, ensuring a positive and empowering birthing experience.

What happens if you can't make it to my birth?We understand the importance of being there for you during your birth. In the rare event that I am unable to attend your birth due to unforeseen circumstances, such as illness or another birth overlapping with yours, I will always have a backup doula in place. This doula will be someone I trust and have established a rapport with, ensuring you still have the support and guidance you need during this incredibly special time. I will work closely with my backup doula to ensure they are familiar with your birth plan, preferences, and any other important details. Rest assured that both myself and my backup doula are committed to supporting you in every way possible, even in unexpected situations.

What area's do you serve?I proudly serve clients within a 40-mile radius of Middletown, Maryland. This includes areas like Frederick, Brunswick, Hagerstown, Leesburg, and even parts of the Washington, D.C. area. I'm dedicated to supporting women throughout the region on their birthing journeys, ensuring they receive the care and support they need. If you're located more than 40 miles away but would still love to have me as your doula, please reach out so we can discuss options!

What is the cost of hiring a Doula and what services are included?When you hire a Doula from Inner Serenity Doula Care, our fees typically range from $500 to $2000, depending on the level of support and services you require. Included in our fees are prenatal visits to discuss birthing options and create a birth plan, emotional and physical support during labor, and newborn care, as well as postpartum support to ensure a smooth transition into parenthood. We also offer continuous communication and availability by phone or email leading up to your due date. Our goal at Inner Serenity Doula Care is to provide personalized, compassionate, and evidence-based support to help you have a positive and empowering birth experience.

Do you offer payment plans for your doula services at Inner Serenity Doula Care?Yes, Inner Serenity Doula Care offers a payment plan. Typically, you pay half of the service fee upfront and the remainder the following month. Contact me to further discuss the payment options!
